The Seed of Faith

He asks from us our faith,
a seed to grow within.
Yet we fail to tend to it,
and continue in our sin.

We toil within our fear,
and dig in the doubt.
Until the seed withers,
and raises not a sprout.

The root to all our evil,
the lust of earthly things.
The trappings of a world,
that money often brings.

We fail to grow in faith,
the truth we do not heed.
To flourish in the Lord,
He must be all we need.
