In The Corner of My World

by Deborah Ann Belka

Lord, in my corner of the world,
there isn't much for me to do
so I spend most of my days
basking in my thoughts of You.

Here I can safely dwell,
in all the goodness of Your love
and I always have the time
to seek the things from above.

There are no interruptions,
keeping me from Your Word
I am able to stay focused
so my soul is endlessly stirred.

I have not a television,
a phone or even a computer
in my corner of the world
the Holy Spirit is my only suitor.

When He comes to call,
I invite Him to sit with me
we spend hours together
as it should always be.

I spend my days and nights,
praying to know Your will
and I am surrounded by a peace
that only You can fill.

I sing throughout my day,
songs filled with eternal praise
to a God who loves me . . .
and to the Son He raised.

Lord, in my corner of the world,
this sadly is not ~ the view
but it's the one that I desire
so, I can be nearer to You . . .

Joshua 22:5
King James Version

"But take diligent heed to do the
commandment and the law, which Moses the
servant of the Lord charged you, to love
the Lord your God, and to walk in all
his ways, and to keep his commandments,
and to cleave unto him, and to serve him
with all your heart and with all your
soul."
