Renewed, Day by Day

I would have lost heart,
and given up on spiritual things
I would have wasted away
from the troubles, that life brings.

I would have passed out,
and lost my faith and my hope
I would have gone down for the count
and thrown in the rope.

I would have sunk under the pressure,
and let my fears take me down
I would have called it quits
and be willing to sink and drown.

I would have been crushed,
under the weight of my heavy load
I would have gotten lost
on the straight and narrow road.

But, I kept my eyes on Jesus,
and He renewed me day by day
and He promised He would lead me
and to show me ~ heaven's way.

2 Corinthians 4:16

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though
outwardly we are wasting away, yet
inwardly we are being renewed day by
day."
