I Am A Mother

by Pearl Leona Sturgis
https://www.facebook.com/pearlleona

If I were a soldier
in battle at war
I'd lay down my life
to unlock freedom's door.

If I were an artist
with one special touch
I'd capture your heart
with the swirl of my brush.

I'd know I'd been chosen
a fortunate one.
I'd be ever thankful
for what God had done.

But I'm not a soldier
in battle at war,
and I'm not an artist
to paint for You, Lord,

But I am a Mother
with babes on her knee...
and Lord, there's no other
You've blessed more than me!
