Adrift upon a raging sea
With wind and wave assailing me
My ship has sunk into the deep
And I am in the ocean's keep
Tempest tossed and sorrow bound
Without hope of being found
My mind is wracked; my body sore;
And soon I'm washed upon the shore
Alone and aimless on that beach
Not knowing mercy is in reach
I hunt for hope in empty air
And wander lost in my despair
Hungry for life giving bread
I'm fed by my own thoughts instead
And find I can't be satisfied
With knowledge I had once relied
Trembling; tired; on my knees;
I ask The Lord to hear my pleas
Then winds of faith blow on my face,
And lift my spirit through God's grace
Transported to a calmer shore
Where I'm in want of nothing more
Than just to feel His providence,
And follow Him from this day hence,
I thank The Lord for granting me
This gift from His divinity
Which saved me on this joyous day
From living as a castaway
Although these storms are hard to bear
We must believe that God is there
To guide us through the wind and rain
And strengthen us in times of pain
Oh storms will rage and winds will blow
But as they come so shall they go
Let faith await those bluer skies
And He will dry our tear filled eyes
