A Land Called Forgiveness

Just in case you didn't know--
Forgiveness is a place
Just beyond sweet charity
Inside the realm of grace

It's a place where wrongdoings are
Absorbed and not reflected
Where empathy reigns evermore
And judgement is rejected

Here there's no bloody revenge
No jail bars of resentment
Here there's only life that's lived
In freedom and contentment

So go escape your self-made jail
You weren't the one convicted
Then let your raw wounds heal up
Even the self-inflicted

And travel with me to that place
Let's make the choice to live
There's nothing that's more divine-like
Than choosing to forgive
