Content in Christ

Contentment is not settling for the less
not giving up on all our goals and plans,
more a deeper understanding of
the value that is already in our hands.

being content even in the hard
holding God in highest regard
even when my dreams are scarred,
my peace left for Him to guard

Contentment is not held captive
by the circumstances surrounding me,
for it is free to roam my soul
as it depends only on the gift of Thee.

being content in who You are
knowing from me You're never far,
not needing me to be a star
for even burdens will not mar

Contentment is not found in the shallows
but discovered in the depth of God,
by us embracing all the grace He gives
learning to receive above and beyond.

being content with Christ within
knowing in Him all things begin,
not worried about what could have been
for He is with us no matter when!

Philippians 4:11-13 not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
