Lemons!

by Deborah Ann Belka
https://poetrybydeborahann.wordpress.com

When given a lemon . . .
we're suppose to make lemonade
it's a saying I've always heard
but, not one I've always made.

You see, I don't like lemonade,
unless it's sweeten by God's grace
then the sourness of this life
I am able to peel away and face.

For what is lemonade,
it cannot quench the real thirst
unless we stir in the goodness
of Jesus' love ~ into it first.

His love takes out the tartness,
the bitterness and the acidity
it peels the sin and grime
pares back the heart's frigidity.

It removes the hardened core,
it softens up the outer peeling
His loves gets right to the soul
for a refreshing ~ inner healing.

So, if you are anything like me,
and lemonade you abhor . . .
the next time you get a lemon
sweeten it with the love of the Lord!

Romans 8:28
King James Version

"And we know that all things work
together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called
according to his purpose."
