I Thank Thee Lord

by Mark Spencer © 2021

I have come in supplication.
A stranger in thine eyes.
Lord thou hath blessed me all my life,
And yet, to my surprise,

I've given thee no words of praise,
To show my gratitude.
Lord, thou hast given life to me,
Through Thee I am renewed,

And yet, I write nary a word
To praise what thou hast done!
To show my faith, and thank thee for,
The blessing of thy Son!

Thou art the breath within my lungs,
The beating of my heart.
There's not a moment in my life,
Which Thou didst not take part!

There are no words immense enough,
To give thee what is due!
Look deep within my heart and soul,
To see my faith is true.

This world, it has no hold on me.
No part hath I adored!
Thy love eclipses everything!
In awe, I thank thee Lord!
