God blessed me with a precious child—
a blessing filled with love.
I'm ever grateful for this gift
the Lord sent from above . . .
O' I was there when you were born—
my heart swelled with sweet smiles.
I counted all your tiny toes,
my precious, little child.
I held you in my arms and cried
sweet tears of happiness.
I felt so blessed to be a "Dad,"
no words could quite express.
And as you slept within my arms,
I felt the world at peace.
I'll ever have that memory,
'twill never ever cease.
And as the years have passed us by
you've grown, my little one.
We've laughed, we've cried, we've spent great times,
and we've had lots of fun.
Always remember . . .
No matter what the age you reach
you'll be my "little one."
I love you, dear, with all my heart—
your smiles outshine the sun.
