If Ever I am Missing

by Pearl Leona Sturgis

I wish I had a secret place
where I could go and hide.
When troubles come I just can't face
I'd humbly there abide.

I wish no one would worry
or wonder where I am,
so I won't need to hurry
to soon get back to them.

Within my secret hide-away
no tears would ever start.
There, peace envelops right away
with Jesus in my heart.

So if I'm ever missing
from satan's sly discord,
you will be right in guessing,
I'm hiding in my Lord.

I know there is a haven
for me up in the sky...
where streets with gold are paven
and no one ever dies.

If I am ever missing...
Don't wonder where I've gone.
Just linger reminiscing...
My Lord has called me Home.
