Refreshing Hope

by Dave Mudford © 2023

The bitter wind of pain
blows constant on my face,
no shelter from the rain
hope's dreams it can erase.

Burden's weight clouding joy
my eyes become downcast,
vision I won't employ
healing grace left outcast.

Change considered too hard
frustrated where I am,
my heart is torn and scarred
failing life's hard exam.

Refreshing breeze of hope
renews my strength in Him,
shelter so I can cope
even when things are grim.

Burden's weight now lifted
with eyes focused on love,
my vision has shifted
to healing from above.

Change is within God's hands
assured where I am now,
my heart now understands
His will I should allow!
