When the world closes in because of our sin
And our souls are weighed down by our guilt,
The way out of the mess is to pray and confess ,
Not hide in the shadows and wilt.
For there is a new start with a freshly cleansed heart;
This blessing God's word has ensured.
Through mercy and grace his light can replace
The darkness our minds have endured.
The years of the locust, when brought into focus,
Are crushing, but all is not loss,
The pot marred by sin, can be made again,
By the Savior who died on the cross.
