"Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?"
(Psalm 42: 5, NLT)
So many tears are shed each day
by those who need a hug.
Their woes are only known to them—
their heart feels a great tug.
Their pain is real—it is intense—
so deep within their soul.
They've lost all hope for happiness
and thoughts of being whole.
And in the midst of their despair
they do not see the Light—
a Light that shines forevermore
through the darkness of their plight.
The Light comes from the Holy One—
the One who'll help them through—
through sorrow and adversity
and hopeless feelings too.
I pray they seek the Lord for help
so they'll find inner peace.
I pray they place their hope in Him
in making their pain cease.
"I will put my hope in God!"
(Psalm 42: 5, NLT)
