Letting Go of Grudges

by Kristine Stanton

It's difficult to let things go
when we are holding tight
to grudges that take hold of us
and motivate a fight.

We close our hands and won't let go
of grudges we regard.
And when we let them have their way
they cause us to be scarred.

It's when we grant each grudge we have
the power to take hold
that we are burdened down with weight
and sin starts to unfold.

Now, if you want to be released
from bondage that restrains,
give all your grudges to the Lord
and He will break these chains.

And please remember to . . .

Love your neighbor as yourself
and do not hold a grudge.
Forgive as God forgives us all
and let Him be the judge.
