"Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it."
(Psalm 34:14, NIV)
Openness and honesty
are virtues we can trust.
Telling lies and not full truths
are morally unjust.
Humility and righteousness
forgiveness, grace, and love,
mercy, kindness, tenderness,
are blessings from above.
Hatred, anger, bitterness,
destructive evil deeds,
are all working parts of sin
that pollinate bad seeds.
Holding grudges, selfishness,
conceit, and jealousy,
violate the ways of God
and aid the enemy.
So, when caught between making good choices, or evil ones . . .
"First seek the counsel of the LORD."
(1 Kings 22:5, NIV)
When you're caught 'tween good and bad
and have to make a choice,
ask the good Lord for His help
and listen for His voice.
Seek His peace and righteousness—
pursue them every day.
Go to Him with thanks and praise
and He won't turn away.
"Seek the LORD your God,
you will find him if you seek him
with all your heart and with all your soul . . .
For the LORD your God is a merciful God;
he will not abandon or destroy you."
(Deuteronomy 4:29, 31, NIV)
