he does not see the tears she cries
living through his pretending lies,
hidden deep down he shuts her out
no one to hear his silent shout,
a wife in name; but not through life
connection left to drown in strife.
she does not see the fear he hides
his need for strength her talk derides,
hidden deep down she pouts and fumes
bitterness creeps and all consumes,
a husband sure; but ridiculed
gossip friends left a bit amused.
people all see the wealth they show
light is on but it does not glow,
hidden deep down the shadows last
pain lurking that they can't get past,
a wedded farce; they live each day
love is said but it has no say.
no one sees that they need some help
sacred vows left, without a yelp,
hidden deep down are bruised egos
romance seen as just placebos,
a couple in name; but they act alone
a dangerous dance that we all condone.
siblings see their parents fighting
they learn love is not delighting,
deep down they think they are a curse
their demands seem to make things worse,
a child in need; with no support
trying drugs as a last resort…
the Good Shepherd sees all their pain
with grace and love He will remain,
deep down into their grime He came
bearing weight on His naked frame,
a God in name; and so much more
connection lost He can restore.
they all now see what's love's about
if they cling to Jesus, throughout,
hidden deep within their wounded souls
is the forgiveness that grace controls,
a Saviour pure; a refuge sweet
for broken lives He does complete.
Colossians 2:9-10 (NLT) For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So, you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
