A Mother's Love

is tender and dear.
Her arms offer comfort
to the babe gathered near.
She snuggles and nurtures
throughout the dark night,
when a bad dream brings fear
and things don't seem right.
She renders sweet kisses
and wipes away tears.
When her babe cries for help
she eases their fears.
A mother will listen
in sweet, thoughtful ways
and admonish with love
with each passing day.
The heart of a mother
protects her dear ones—
each babe that's a daughter—
each one that's a son.
The Father in Heaven,
our Maker above,
commissioned these treasures
abounding with love.
He wrapped them in ribbons
of mercy and grace
and gave them expressions
of joy on their face.
He blessed them with wisdom
and sent them our way
to prudently guide us
so we would not stray.
