With Him

by Clinton Herring © 2023

My fall is near, it's very clear,
Though seen around me life anew.
This life, my age, I seem a sage,
As time has stirred an endless zoo.

A heart that's sad should shed a tear,
Because I never, ever flew.
My drama now upon this stage.
But I must pass, I find it's true.

So now I'm near and sense the fear.
Is God for sure the other end?
There's One who came and shed His blood,
The Son, this God, He calls me friend.

His blood so pure, it washes sin,
and fixes every broken part.
It's healed this core, my soul within.
He floods His peace within my heart.

So now I'm sure when close my eyes,
And spirit sheds this house of clay,
And gone then are all this world's lies,
With Him, I shall forever stay.

Daniel 12:13a
But go thou thy way (Daniel) till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days...
