Lift your hands unto the Lord—
to Jesus Christ, your King.
Come give thanks to Him this day
and praise Him as you sing.
"The Son of Man must be delivered
over to the hands of sinners,
be crucified and on the third day
be raised again."
(Luke 24:7, NIV)
Many years ago this day,
Christ rose up from the dead.
Now He sits upon a Throne—
not on a stone deathbed.
Christ is Risen—yes, indeed—
our Savior is alive!
With grace He fought a battle—
a battle He survived.
He was beaten and in pain
then nailed upon a cross.
He shed His blood—He gave His life—
a catastrophic loss.
Truly . . .
Christ is risen—He's alive—
He's risen from the dead.
And He sits upon a Throne
as One with our Godhead.
Now we wait for His return
to gather all His sheep—
those who wait in faith for Him
and faithful ones who sleep.
"Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many;
and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin,
but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him."
(Hebrews 9:28, NIV)
