Don’t Dance With The Devil

by Jennifer Kirkendall © 2023

Just pay attention,
Because it's a hard lesson learned,
If you dance with the devil,
You're going to get burned.

He can look attractive,
He can be easy on the eyes,
But you can't trust him,
He's full of lies.

He disguises things as fun,
He wants to allure,
He hides the dangers,
He makes them obscure.

He desires your life,
He wants to control.
He offers you things,
He wants you to sell your soul.

Once that you're in his arms,
And the music starts to play,
It's hard to break loose,
It's difficult to get away.

He wants you dancing with him,
Right into the pits of hell,
Eternally separated from God,
No matter how much you kick or yell.

If you see him on that dance floor,
And it appears like so much fun,
Don't get entrapped,
Just turn and run.

If you hear his music,
Or you see him dance,
Look away,
Don't even glance.
