Healed and Forgiven

Healing from my broken
is what my soul is seeking,
more than just a token
to comfort all my weeping.

Not healing on the surface
but one that gives me purpose,
Not healing without meaning
but has God intervening

Sorry for all my mistakes
wanting forgiveness that is real,
something that my soul partakes
no matter what my heart may feel.

Not forgiveness by my strain
but delivered through His pain,
Not forgiveness that I chase
but gained through the Saviour's grace

All sins forgiven and forgotten
in the future and the past,
living no longer as downtrodden
nothing more has to be asked.

Not forgiven by a special prayer
but by what God is willing to declare,
Not forgiven because I have changed
but by what Christ on the cross exchanged

Healed forever of my broken
peace and joy is mine to hold,
now only love in life is spoken
I am welcomed in His fold.

Not forgiven just in this moment
for I now have His full atonement,
Not healing that is fleeting
for in grace, He is completing
