As the Day Approaches

The world gets a little crazier, every single day
each person has their perspective, they want to have their say,
fighting for "their justice", makes injustice rule supreme
rights are now demanded, consideration of others; now extreme
struggling to overcome as compromise encroaches,
we all need encouragement as the day approaches.

Harsh days faced as trials come our way
as pressure mounts the world can make us stray,
battling on our own, is not the way He planned
for He made us His family, so together we can stand,
hurt inflicted by a selfish world, the damage is atrocious,
we all need each other's love, as the day approaches.

Jesus has promised to return, to free us from all pain
living though while waiting, the struggles will remain,
compromise creeps upon us all, self-battling to survive
needing others to challenge and inspire, enabling us to thrive,
supporting and spurring each other, as our Saviour coaches,
we all need to keep on meeting as the day approaches.

Hebrews 10:23-25 NIV Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
