Lighter Side of Hell

by Pearl Leona Sturgis

If you have two coats
and your neighbor none
but you never noticed
that he needed one...
If your wallet's fat
and you shun the poor
and you don't know what
you can be thankful for...

You're on the lighter side of hell
where the (so called) Christians dwell
when the way seems right to man...
But the devil knows it well...
For you're underneath his spell...
in the great deceiver's hand.

If your confidence
is built upon the flesh
you could be drowning in
your own self righteousness.
He who heals the blind
can set the prisoner free,
and there's a path to lead you
out through Calvary ...

From the lighter side of hell
where the so called Christians dwell
when the way seems right to man
but the devil knows it well,
for you're underneath his spell,
in the great deceiver's hand.
