Seeking answers, a desperate plea
You cannot look at the reflection you see
Clouded thoughts, a furrowed brow
Nowhere to turn, not even sure how
Lift off the weights to be burden free
Stop the tears from eyes that don't see
Harvesting nothing but still pulling the plow
Not caring who gets hurt, not until now
A need for loving arms, a gentle caress
Not how you lived an utter mess
Wanting forgiveness, the wrongful ways
Someone to listen, to follow out of the haze
Desperately reaching out, trying to find
Feel His presence, compassionate and kind
Peace within, utter calm within the light
A new purpose, eyes opened with new sight
A rock, a fortress, against all He defends
To believe there is more beyond after it ends
No longer desiring what the world can give
Asking only for God's Spirit; to truly live
