Exhale deeply as anxiety slowly builds within
Seeing it before your eyes, the failure of sin
Guilt festers and will not leave a broken mind
Hurting the Lord, it just cannot be left behind
To be saved does not mean that it is safe
Barbed and coarse, poor choices they chafe
Dirty, cannot wash it off, and the Spirit defiled
Must begin anew, to be blameless as a child
Bound by sin, most certainly bound to suffer
Whether saved or lost, it will become rougher
Stealing the joy, He placed there in your heart
Honestly admit the wrong, ask God for a new start
Bring back the song, the words of worship within
Verses of the Spirit, a body washed, where grace begins
Restore the testimony, all your heart, soul, and mind
Never will He refuse forgiveness, our Father divine
