The Day of the LORD

by Kristine Stanton © 2021

"Blow the trumpet in Zion;
sound the alarm on my holy hill.
Let all who live in the land tremble,
for the day of the LORD is coming.
It is close at hand." . . .
(Joel 2: 28, NIV)

A trumpet will blast as a warning,
and it will be heard by all.
Locusts will swarm o'er the earth
they'll charge through lands and scale walls.

The Day of the LORD is coming,
our children will prophesy.
Young men will see many visions,
strange things will appear through the sky.

The LORD will pour out His Spirit
old men will come to dream dreams.
The Day will soon be upon us
when the LORD comes to claim the redeemed.

The sun will be turned to darkness
before this great and terrible Day.
Come, give your hearts to the LORD,
turn to Him, repent, and pray.
