Different Shades

shades of grey
filters through my heart,
compromise
tears my hope apart.

living colour
escapes within the cloud,
blessing now missed
wishes begin to crowd.

broken dreams
hinder the vision seen,
selfish claims
truth fails to intervene…

a new sunrise
shining through the dark,
love's pure delight
always leaves its mark.

scarlet hearts
cleansed by the blood He shed,
shadows removed
into our wounds He bled.

breathing life
sheltered through the darkest storm,
blessings claimed
in His truth my thoughts transform.

shades of His grace

assurance mine
