Closer

The closer I am to the Lord,
the more I feel His peace
and the burdens of my soul
find their sweet release.

The closer I am to Jesus,
the more of His grace I find
and the worries on my heart
no longer play upon my mind.

The closer I am to my Savior,
the more I know I am blessed
for the nearer I am to Him
the more I have perfect rest.

The closer I am to the Lord,
the closer He is to me . . .
and there's no place in the world
that I would rather be!
