Most people think a wrong
Is balanced by a right.
Not so, for sin's a stain,
That dims all righteous light.
A stain must be washed out.
God knows this all so well.
And so should we know this
When stains in laundries dwell.
The Son in flesh, God's lamb,
God's choice, that righteous blood,
Would be the agent clean
That pours on us, a flood.
It washes clean that stain
That seems is fixed in place,
And gives new hope for those
Whose stain is now erased.
Please open up your mind
And know that this is true.
Grasp the work of Jesus.
His life for yours, in lieu.
Jeremiah 2:22
Although you wash yourself with soap and use an abundance of cleansing powder, the stain of your guilt is still before me," declares the Sovereign Lord.
Romans 3:25
God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished.
